Directions to Pools in the Area

Arundel

Arundel is on the north side of Limestone Rd. (Rt. 7) between Milltown Rd. and Pike Creek Valley. At the traffic light on Limestone Rd. turn onto Arundel Dr. Go to the second left (at the stop sign) and turn onto Elderon Dr. The pool is on the left.

Delaware Bluefish

Located on South College Ave. (Rt.896). Turn in gate at the UD Field House. Go left and then right toward the Ice Arena in back. Pool is located behind the Ice Arena. Go into lobby of Ice Arena and out door on right to get out to the pool.

Drummond Hill

Take Kirkwood Hwy. to Polly Drummond Hill Rd. Go north to Forge Rd. (1st right after blinking light). Turn right onto Forge and proceed to Etta J. Wilson School on left. Parking is available in the school lot. From Linden Hill Rd. - turn left at the end of Linden Hill Rd. Take first left onto Forge Rd. and follow above directions.

Fairfield

From Kirkwood Hwy. to Cleveland Ave. to 896 North. Turn right at the light at Fairfield Shopping Center onto Fremont Rd. The pool is one block down on left.

Glasgow Pines

Take Rt. 40 West. Entrance to Glasgow Pines is the 1st traffic light past Salem Church Rd/Porter Rd intersection (when you see the WaWa and 7-Eleven you're almost there). If you cross the RR tracks, you've passed it! Entrance is on the right.

Kennett YMCA

Take Rt. 7, Limestone Rd North to PA, turn left onto Kaolin Rd (there should be a sign for Kennett Square on the right). Take Kaolin Rd into Kennett. At the Kennett High School take a right onto South St. Continue on South St. to S. Walnut Streeet. Take a left onto S. Walnut St and the YMCA Community Pool will be on your left.

Maple Valley

Coming west on Kirkwood Hwy. make a right onto Possum Park Rd. (between Yasik Funeral Home and Tom Livizos Realty). Pool is one block on right. Coming east on Kirkwood Hwy. make a U-turn at Delaplane Ave. (Pizza Hut on right). Follow the above directions.

Meetinghouse Hill

From Kirkwood Hwy. - turn onto Polly Drumond Hill Rd. Just before the Polly Drumond Shopping Center, turn right at the light onto Linden Hill Rd. About halfway down the hill, turn left onto Boyds Valley Rd. Go 50' and then turn left onto dirt lane, follow to pool. From Paper Mill Rd. turn onto Ebenezer Church Rd. Just after the shopping center turn left at light onto Linden Hill Rd. Follow above directions. From Limestone Rd. turn onto Linden Hill Rd at Pike Creek Shopping Center. Proceed about one mile turn right into Meeting House Hill Development (Boyds Valley Rd). Follow above directions.

North Star

From Rt. 7 (Limestone Rd) to Rt. 72 (Papermill Rd.) follow Rt. 72 toward Newark, past The Independence School. Turn right onto North Star Rd. Proceed one mile and turn right onto Neptune Dr. Follow Neptune to the end where you reach Jupiter Dr. Turn right onto Jupiter and proceed approx. 50 yards to Saturn Dr. Turn right on Saturn and follow it to the end where the pool is located.

Nottingham Green

Rt. 273 West to Radcliff Dr. Turn left at sign for Nottingham Green development. Pool is on second corner on right.

Oaklands

Follow West Main St., Newark past the Deer Park Restaurnt straight onto Rt. 273 West. Go across the railroad tracks and turn left at the first traffic light onto Hillside Rd. The pool is approx. 1/4 mile on the left.

Oakwood Valley

Going West towarks Newark on Kirkwood Hwy. thru the intersenction with St. James Church Rd. Take the first right past Artesian Bank.

Penn Acres

When coming South on Rt. 141 (Basin Rd.) Turn left onto Crippeo Dr. at the traffic light at Penn Mart Shopping Center. Go approx. 4/10 mile to stop sign at Fithian Dr. Turn left and the pool is abut 200 yds. on right.

Persimmon Creek

Rte. 896 to West Chestnut Hill Rd. Go West on W. Chestnut Hill Rd. approx. 1/4 mile. Turn right onto Arbor Dr. in Arbor Pak. Follow Arbor Dr. to the back of the development. Turn in drive at the sign on the right.

Sherwood Park

Rt. 7 North to Milltown Rd. (take right exit lane immediately after Funeral Home). Go straight at traffic light onto McKennan's Church Rd. Go 3-4 blocks and then left on Bardell St. (last left before Delcastle Recreation Area). Take first left onto High Gate. The pool is on the right.

Skyline

From Rt. 7 North (Limestone Rd.) Turn left onto Linden Hill Rd. at the Pike Creek Shopping Center. Take Linden Hill Rd. to Skyline Dr. (Traffic light). Turn left onto Skyline Dr. The pool is about 1/4 mile on left (across from Skyline Middle School.)

Southern Chester County YMCA

From Newark, take Rt. 896 North into PA. Approx. 8 miles norht of PA/DE line bear right onto 796. Approx 2 miles turn left at traffic light onto Old Baltimore Pike (Red Rose Inn on corner). YMCA is 6/10 mile on right.

Three Little Bakers

Go North on Rt. 7 (Limestone Rd.) to Pike Creek Valley Shopping Center. Turn left onto Skyline Dr. and follow around to Three Little Bakers Blvd. Turn right and follow to pool. From Newark take Kirkwood Hwy. east and turn left onto Polly Drummond Hill Rd. Go to Linden Hill Rd. and turn right. Follow to first traffic light and turn left onto Three Little Bakers Blvd. Follow to the pool.

Valleybrook

Follow Milltown Rd. to W. Parris Dr. at the entrance to Cedarcrest Development. The pool is on the right.

Wedgewood

From Newark, go east on Rt. 273 to Eagle Glen Development. Turn right onto Wedgefield Dr. (between Rt. 7 and Appleby Rd.) Pool is on right.

Western YMCA

On Kirkwood Hwy. across from Best. Drive thru parking lot on right of building to rear of building. Outdoor pool is on your left.

Westminster

From Kirkwood Hwy. turn North on Rt. 41 (Newport-Gap Pike). Proceed North on Rt. 41 to Millcreek-Hercules Rd. (Emily Bissell Hospital). Continue north on Rt. 41 1/4 mile to Westminster sign on right. Turn right onto Cheltenham Dr. Pool is on the right at the first driveway.

Yorklyn

From traffic light at Lancaster Pike (Rt. 41) and Yorklyn Rd in Hockessin, turn North on Yorklyn Rd. Go about 2 miles past NVF over the Red Clay Creek Bridge and bear right. At the Y in the road (CCA sign) take the left fork toward CCA Center. At the end of the row houses on the left, turn left onto Yorklyn Pool Entrance Road. Pool is at the top of the hill. Park at the bottom on the hill.
